Meet Meaghan

I’ve been immersed in learning midwifery for years and midwifery has been steeping in my blood for generations, my grandmothers were midwives. I have noticed in my life that being close to the magic of birth, watching women be strong, vulnerable, and powerful, as they overcome their greatest fears, has a lasting impact on my outlook in life.

I was drawn to midwifery when I gave birth at home with my two children. I remember it feeling so familiar. I was also in awe about how the midwife led her life. Her care and compassion changed my life.

I’ve always sought natural healing modalities and began studying them in depth when my children were born. I am a certified herbalist, Ayurvedic practitioner, and yoga instructor.

“I trust in the process of birth. I trust women to know more about their bodies, than their providers. I believe real health care comes from educating the mother and allowing her to make her own informed decisions.”

My favorite joy is to watch the Mother Archetype emerge in women.

Midwifery Care Looks Like

In Person Midwifery Visits

We spend 1 hour + getting to understand where you are at, what questions you have, what fears are coming up, and more. We get to know each other and build trust. We offer all the same tests that OB/Gyns offer. We work collaboratively with specialists and doctors. Everything is consent based and you are in charge of all decisions. 1 x a month in the 1st trimester. 2x month in 2nd trimester, and every week for the last month.

Home birth

It is proven that women give birth more easily when they are in environments they feel comfortable in. For some this is the hospital, for most this is their homes. We come to your house prepared with all the same gear that the hospital offers. Midwives are specialists in normal birth but we also are trained in birth emergencies.

Postpartum

Your postpartum care starts with in home care in the first days of your birth. We come to you. We continue the care with an in office 2 week and a 6 week visit. We are available by phone or text with prompt replies to anything that is coming up.

Testimonials

Jenna

How can I even begin to express our deepest gratitude for having Meaghan as part of our pregnancy, birth and postpartum story? We were incredibly fortunate to connect with her throughout our journey of bringing our daughter earth-side. As a first-time mom, the entire process required constant surrender and trust as each part of our path unfolded into the unknown. Meaghan was such an amazing guide in this for us; she is grounded and compassionate, and her calming energy was so reassuring as I rode the waves of emotions throughout the many moons we spent together. Her wisdom and knowledge truly helped build our confidence along our new parenthood journey. In times when I walked through particularly challenging feelings, Meaghan’s heartfelt encouragement made all the difference in moving through them. I felt truly seen by her at my most vulnerable, and the beauty of being held in this way brought potent healing in this new chapter. During our birth, Meaghan’s steady, unwavering presence was absolutely invaluable, and I believe her gentle support was an integral part of my success in home birthing. Getting to know Meaghan and having her on our birth team was an absolute blessing. She has become like family and without hesitation we would welcome the opportunity to co-create our next birth experience with her. She has a dedicated heart for women and families and this work is clearly her calling. We love you, Meaghan!

Meaghan's passion for herbalism is rooted in a deep relationship with the plants she works with. Studying with Meaghan has given me the knowledge of how to easily and accessibly integrate herbalism into my life, while also deepening my appreciation of the plants for the wisdom they offer. Now that I am embarking on the path of motherhood, I am grateful that Meaghan is teaching me how I can share the gifts of the botanical world with my baby.

Choosing Meaghan as my midwife for home birth was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made in my life. From my prenatal appointments to my labor to postpartum visits, Meaghan provided the most unique care. I always felt so comfortable and heard. She’s intuitive, knowledgeable, warm and reassuring. There just aren’t enough words to describe how wonderful and positive of an experience I had with Meaghan. She’s a gem.

Meaghan was so attentive and caring at each prenatal visit and at my birth. She radiates strength and knowledge and provides it in such a loving and gentle way. Her commitment to the health of women mind body & soul is evident from the moment you meet her and I am truly grateful to have had her on my birth team. Thank you!!!

Working with Meaghan for the beginning of my postpartum journey was one of the best decisions I made. As a first time mom, I knew I would need trusted ones around me to offer help, nourishment, and guidance…but Meaghan provided way more than that. Having her in my home eased so much stress… providing the comfort I needed to take my first shower, allowed moments to myself for a quick healing massage, and time for the sitz bath I would have never done for myself.

Her cooking, care, and conversation helped me get through some of the hardest few weeks you can never prepare for. I would recommend her service to anyone I know who is walking into motherhood. Postpartum can be so hard, tiring, new and scary…but having Meaghan by my side brought me so much peace.

“Experience of the phenomenal capacity of our birthing body can give us an enduring sense of our own power as women. Birth is the beginning of life; the beginning of mothering, and of fathering. We all deserve a good beginning.”

Book a Free Consult

Consultations are great way to see if we are a good fit. Let’s spend an hour together in person or virtually, to drop in, to ask questions, to learn, and to listen to what the needs and desires are.

I’d love to work with families who:

  • Are low-risk mothers for out-of-hospital care.
  • Know you want a home birth.
  • Wish for care that practices informed-consent.
  • Desire care that is more than just clinical treatment and includes support for mental, emotional, and spiritual support.

You are looking for a midwife who:

  • Is generous with her time and makes space for thoroughly answering your questions.
  • Talks openly about safety and risk.
  • Gives you all the potential options that traditional obgynecological care offers, but also gives you the ultimate deciding power.
  • Trusts you to make the best decisions about your care.
  • Will be open and available for what comes up.
  • Is compassionate.
